A helicopter’s value cannot be judged by its appearance, total time, or asking price alone. The remaining life of major components, recorded cycles, maintenance history, damage history, and condition found during an on-site inspection can change the picture substantially.
AEROMAX founder Harry W. Ingram has appraised more than 500 helicopters, ranging from the Robinson R22 to the heavy-lift Boeing CH-47 Chinook. That experience helps us identify the questions buyers, owners, and lenders need answered before they rely on a helicopter’s stated value.
Investigate Before You Invest.
AEROMAX conducts on-site helicopter appraisals supported by aircraft records, market research, and a physical inspection. We examine the aircraft as it exists—not simply as it is described in a listing or represented by its total time.
When a concern requires a mechanic or specialist to determine airworthiness or the cost of correction, we identify the need for that separate evaluation. An appraisal does not replace a prepurchase inspection.
Helicopter records can be complex. Missing component cards, unclear life-limit tracking, incomplete logbooks, or gaps in maintenance documentation may affect a buyer’s ability to understand what is being purchased and what expenses lie ahead.
AEROMAX reviews the available documentation for inconsistencies and unanswered questions. We help clients determine which records need to be obtained or clarified before they make a financial commitment.
A helicopter purchase involves more than agreeing on a price. Buyers need to understand the aircraft’s history, component status, likely upcoming costs, inspection findings, and the protections written into the transaction.
AEROMAX offers independent buyer guidance through its aircraft intelligence and acquisition consulting services. We do not sell aircraft or hold inventory. Our role is to help buyers ask the right questions, investigate concerns, and make decisions with a clearer understanding of risk.
We assist helicopter buyers, owners, lenders, insurers, attorneys, and other parties who need an independent assessment of a helicopter and its supporting records. The scope of each assignment is tailored to the aircraft and the client’s intended use of the report.
Tell us the make, model, serial number, registration, location, and the reason you need an appraisal or review. We will discuss the appropriate scope and the records needed to begin
